1. Explain the Chipko Movement.
Ans - The Chipko Movement was an environmental movement in India. It started in the Himalayan region (now in Uttarakhand). In this movement, villagers, especially women, hugged trees to stop them from being cut down. The word “Chipko” means “to hug”. This movement helped people understand the importance of trees and forests. It taught us that trees protect soil, give oxygen, and help in rainfall.

Ans- The environmentalist who inspires me the most is Sunderlal Bahuguna. He was a leader of the Chipko Movement. He worked hard to save forests and nature. He taught people that trees are very important for our life. He inspired many people to protect the environment and live in harmony with nature.
