  3. GSAT-1 – Used for telecommunication.
  4. IRS-1A – Used for taking pictures of Earth (remote sensing).
  5. Kalpana-1 – Weather satellite named after astronaut Kalpana Chawla.
  6. Chandrayaan-1 – India’s first mission to the Moon.

Ans - Natural Satellite- A natural satellite is a space body that moves around a planet naturally. It is not made by humans. Eg. Moon

2. Enumerate the different uses of artificial satellites.


Ans - Artificial satellites are used for many purposes:

To forecast weather (tell about rain, storms, etc.)

To send TV and radio signals

To help in communication (like mobile phones and internet)

To help in map making and navigation (like GPS)

To study Earth and space

3. Ramya is able to watch television every day. Which kind of artificial satellite helps this?
